Dublin North–Central is a parliamentary constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. The constituency elects 3 deputies (Teachtaí Dála, commonly known as TDs). The method of election is the single transferable vote form of proportional representation (PR-STV). == History and boundaries == It became a 3 seat constituency for the 2007 general election, having varied between 3 and 4 seats since its creation in 1948. The constituency's most high-profile TD was Charles Haughey, who won the first seat in the constituency at every election from 1981 until his retirement in 1992, when his son Seán Haughey won his seat but did not top the poll.
